The Australian Government in consultation with the Department of Health recommend children aged 1-5 receive a minimum of 3 hours of physical activity throughout the day. Are you meeting these guidelines?

Over 8 in 10 (83%) of children aged 2–5 are not meeting both the physical activity and screen time recommendations.

The Raising Children Network has some simple recommendations for physical activity for children aged birth to five years.

A checklist of physical milestones from birth to 5 years. Educators are encouraged to use this reference as a source of information rather than as a prescriptive checklist. A sound understanding of developmental milestones will support you to effectively assess children’s play and learning.
